The Wilderness First Responder (WFR) course is the gold standard in remote medical training, preparing participants to handle emergencies when help is hours or days away.
The Wilderness First Responder (WFR) course is the industry-standard certification for outdoor leaders, guides, and those traveling or working in remote areas where professional medical care is delayed. This intensive, hands-on training prepares participants to assess, treat, and manage medical emergencies in challenging environments. Through realistic scenarios and skill labs, students learn to handle trauma, environmental hazards, and common medical issues when definitive care may be hours—or days—away. SOLO Cambodia’s WFR program blends international best practices with local realities, preparing participants to respond effectively in rural Cambodian contexts.
The Wilderness First Responder course is designed for anyone who may need to provide medical care in remote or resource-limited settings. This includes outdoor leaders, guides, NGO staff, missionaries, adventure travelers, community health volunteers, and anyone living or working where professional medical help may be hours or days away. It is especially valuable for those responsible for the safety of groups in rural Cambodia or similar environments. This course is currently reserved only for those who plan to be a Village First Aid instructor.
