What It Looks Like to Support Us

SOLO Cambodia is the medical training arm of Majesty International, dedicated to equipping Cambodians with life‑saving skills and empowering them to serve their communities. We provide internationally recognized first aid and wilderness medical training, while integrating faith into real‑world service. Every course we teach not only equips people to respond in emergencies—it also opens doors to share the hope of Jesus Christ.

Our Impact: In Action.

We Develop Region-Specific Training Programs

We work with our wilderness first aid partners to create medical training designed for Cambodia’s unique needs, always building each course on a faith‑oriented foundation.

We Ensure High Quality Content

We then collaborate with experienced medical and ministry professionals to make sure every course delivers the highest quality, most relevant instruction possible.

We Translate & Contextualize

We work with local translators who have medical knowledge to adapt the content into Khmer, using culturally relevant examples and scenarios students can easily relate to.

We Train High Impact Instructors

We equip instructors from partner organizations who are in positions of significant influence and who will serve in Certified Training Centers.

We Shadow Early Courses

For the first several student courses, we walk alongside and shadow new instructors to mentor, observe, and ensure quality delivery.

We Empower & Support Long Term

Once established, we provide ongoing support to instructors and Training Centers to help with record‑keeping, certification renewals, and maintaining a like‑minded community with shared resources.

We Remember The Poor

We intentionally serve those with the least access to medical training or resources, ensuring help reaches the most vulnerable.

We Reach The Lesser Reached

With the support of us partners, our training goes into rural villages and marginalized communities where few, if any, other programs operate.

We Empower Local Leaders

By training Cambodian instructors through trusted partnerships, we put the tools for change directly into the hands of local people.

We Create Sustainable & Reproducible Programs

Once trained, instructors can teach others again and again without relying on foreign trainers, or expensive resources, creating lasting impact.

We Integrate Faith In Our Programs

Every course is rooted in Christ‑centered compassion, meeting physical needs while opening doors for the Gospel.

We Create Opportunities For The Next Generation

We equip young Cambodians with skills and leadership opportunities that open doors for future employment, ministry, and community influence.

We Embed Lifesaving Skills In Local Ministries

We ensure partners have the capability to respond instantly to emergencies within their own operations and communities.

We Multiply Impact Through Trained Leaders

We equip partners with instructors who can continually train new responders using minimal resources without relying on outside trainers.

We Create Self Sustaining Training Programs

Develop income generating opportunities and strive to empower locals that through hosted courses help fund ongoing ministry work and provide fiscal support.

We Integrate Holistic Ministry Models

Equip partners to meet both physical and spiritual needs in a seamless, natural way that builds trust and deep relationships.

We Strengthen Organizational Resilience

We give partners the tools and confidence to respond effectively during crises, disasters, or unexpected community needs.

We Build Strategic Networks

We connect partners with other high impact organizations for collaboration, mentorship, and shared mission growth.

Our Impact: Sustainably.

Studies by the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNESCO show that Train‑the‑Trainer models create exponential reach because each trained instructor can educate dozens—or even hundreds—of additional learners without requiring outside facilitators. This greatly reduces the cost of scaling training while ensuring the knowledge remains in‑country.

In addition, a review in the Journal of Education and Health Promotion found that Train‑the‑Trainer approaches significantly improved knowledge retention and skill proficiency among learners compared to one‑time external training. Over time, a single instructor may influence hundreds of people, multiplying the impact far beyond the initial investment.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has also recognized Train‑the‑Trainer as one of the most effective strategies for building sustainable local capacity in health education programs. By training local instructors, we create a ripple effect where knowledge is continually passed on, long after the original training session.
The OECD Development Assistance Committee warns that development programs relying entirely on outside funding often struggle to survive once donor cycles end. Allowing local training centers to set modest course fees creates a revenue stream that covers materials, pays for operational costs, and supports continued outreach. This approach reduces dependency on donor funding and builds financial resilience.

According to research from the World Bank, cost‑recovery models at the community level often lead to greater ownership, better resource management, and a stronger commitment to maintaining services. The Harvard Business Review has also documented that programs with diversified income streams—especially those that allow local stakeholders to contribute financially—tend to have greater longevity and local buy‑in.

By enabling our partner training centers to generate their own funding, we help them create a stable foundation for delivering training year after year without interruption.
Research published in the International Journal of Community Development consistently shows that initiatives led by local leaders achieve higher adoption rates and longer‑term survival than those driven entirely by outside actors. Local instructors have cultural credibility and can adapt training in ways that are contextually relevant and trusted.

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) reports that locally led programs are more resilient during crises because they are deeply connected to the communities they serve and can adapt quickly to changing needs. The World Bank also emphasizes that empowering local leaders strengthens social capital—the trust, networks, and norms that make communities work together effectively.

When Khmer instructors own and lead the training, it ensures not only that the knowledge is passed on accurately, but also that it is delivered in a way that resonates deeply with the people. This creates a long‑term impact that persists for generations.
