Village First Aid (Khmer)
This is a soft open course designed to train our instructors. There will be instructor trainers assisting in the course. You may still join the course. The Village First Aid course equips you with essential lifesaving skills for rural and resource-limited environments. Through hands-on practice and real-world scenarios, you’ll learn how to assess patients, control life-threatening bleeding, provide basic wound care, treat burns and fractures, and respond to common medical emergencies. You’ll also learn how to recognize and respond to snakebites and other dangerous bites and stings common in Cambodia, as well as how to arrange safe transport to medical facilities when needed. Designed for community leaders, volunteers, and individuals in high-impact roles, this course builds the confidence and competence to provide effective care until professional help is available.

About the Event
In this course, you will learn how to:
- Perform a basic patient assessment to identify injuries and illnesses.
- Control life-threatening bleeding using direct pressure and proper bandaging.
- Provide basic wound care to prevent infection.
- Recognize the signs of shock and provide initial treatment.
- Respond to common medical emergencies such as fainting, breathing difficulties, and seizures.
- Treat minor burns, cuts, and soft tissue injuries effectively.
- Safely manage musculoskeletal injuries like sprains, fractures, and dislocations until help arrives.
- Recognize and respond to snakebites and other dangerous bites/stings common in Cambodia.
- Understand when and how to call for help and arrange transport to medical facilities.
- Apply your knowledge to real-life practice scenarios to build confidence in caring for your community.
