Wilderness First Responder / Village First Aid Instructor
The Wilderness First Responder / Village First Aid Instructor course prepares participants to handle serious medical emergencies in remote and resource-limited settings. Blending wilderness medicine with rural health training, it equips you to assess patients, provide lifesaving care, and teach basic first aid within your community. Graduates leave ready to respond in the field and to train others, multiplying the impact where advanced medical care may be hours or days away.

About the Event
In this course, you will learn how to:
- Perform a comprehensive patient assessment in remote or resource-limited environments.
- Recognize and manage life-threatening medical emergencies such as shock, airway compromise, and severe bleeding.
- Treat musculoskeletal injuries, including fractures, sprains, and dislocations, using improvised splints and supports.
- Manage wounds, burns, and soft tissue injuries to prevent infection and complications.
- Recognize and respond to environmental emergencies, including heat illness, hypothermia, dehydration, and altitude-related conditions.
- Provide care for medical conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and chest pain until evacuation.
- Identify and respond to bites, stings, and envenomation from local Cambodian species.
- Plan and execute safe patient evacuation, including packaging and transport techniques.
- Develop the skills to teach and lead Village First Aid courses, empowering others in your community to provide basic lifesaving care.
Course Length: 10 days.

Requirements Before Attending: Must be 16 years old. Must speak english fluently.
