Naome was born in Kampong Thom, Cambodia in 1989. After losing both of her parents at a young age, she was raised by her grandparents until she was seven. With limited income, her grandparents then made the tough decision to move Naome into an orphan home in Phnom Penh where she would be able to attend school. Despite the challenges, Naome excelled in her education and found joy in traditional Khmer dance—performing with friends during church services and special events, and later training the younger children herself.
She went on to study medicine and earned a degree as a lab technician. With a deep desire to help others, she has supported medical clinics in partnership with Chenla University. At Khmer Hands, Naome plays a vital, all-encompassing role—managing, mentoring, designing, and guiding the vision of the project, all while warmly hosting guests and sharing her story with honesty and grace.
Naome also helped launch our two Arts Café locations—one in the Kep Crab Market and one near the mangroves, just fifteen minutes from Khmer Hands. Both serve as creative training grounds for students who dream of running their own businesses one day.
